Say you want a big, FWD, Entry level luxury sedan. Which one do you choose?
Chevy Impala
Lincoln MKS
Toyota Avalon
Acura RLX
Buick LaCrosse
Ford Taurus
Some of these aren't made by lux companies, but can be optioned to be just as luxurious. If there's anything I missed on the list, choose it if you want, these are the ones I could think of.

Impala so I can pretend it's one of these.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 07:39 |

From this list? It's gotta be the Impala.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 07:42 |

RL is just gonna be a step above these others. I might give the SHO some thought though
![]() 04/24/2014 at 07:44 |

Gotta go with the gold plus sign in this one
![]() 04/24/2014 at 07:46 |

No, and you can't make me.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 07:48 |

Oh yeah?
![]() 04/24/2014 at 07:51 |

Of those...I'm taking the Impala. However, I'm with Jayhawk on this one...CPO Genesis R-spec
![]() 04/24/2014 at 07:52 |

This list? The Taurus SHO.
You forgot the Kia Cadenza, which is my choice, even though its odd, i like it
![]() 04/24/2014 at 07:54 |

A good response, but just a little bland IMO.
(Also I just kinja'd goofed, meant to reply to the main thread. I'm just going to blame it on it being early.)
![]() 04/24/2014 at 07:54 |

The Cadenza's brother, the Hyundai Azera is also missing.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 07:56 |

Impala, hands down.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:05 |

The Impala or, if money isn't an issue, the Buick.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:06 |
|
Everything except the Acura and the Toyota
From the listed cars, the Pimpala, Buick or Lincoln
Specifically the Lincoln
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:09 |

On looks alone the Impala. Plus, I can rip out the FWD and stick in an LS and RWD. One of the few circumstances where I would feel that that's the right thing to do.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:14 |

My vote is for the SHO, because i own one :D
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:18 |

This this this 1000x this.

I love how so many people are choosing a car that a year ago no one would've touched with a 100 foot pole.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:20 |
|
Well damn, I completely forgot the Koreans.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:20 |

For the cost of any of those, I can get an absolutely perfect classic Toronado. In other words, I reject your reality and substitute my own.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:22 |
|
I'd be torn between the Impala or Taurus. Or Buick and Lincoln if I was in the price bracket.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:23 |
|
I wonder if this would fit on the SS's platform..
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:23 |
|
If the Taurus was the Sho model, I'd take it.
If the Pimpala was the SS model that doesn't exist yet. I'd take it.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:23 |

Just like a woman with a big ass does not equal a big-ass woman, so does a big-ass car not equal a luxury car.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:24 |
|
I certainly prefer the styling of the Impala to the SS.
Hang on, here's an idea, why didn't they just bring the SS over as the Impala, with the same front end styling. I feel it would do better with a famous name attached to it. Maybe Nova or something.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:25 |
|
The Taurus is a really pretty car. I especially like the SHO. Excellent choice.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:26 |
|
I figured you were Kinja'd.
Either way, one man's bland is another man's sleeper
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:26 |

I see an SS Impala in the near future. Throw the 3.6TT in there and AWD.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:26 |
|
The Impala is the most attractive, followed by the Buick, but the Ford and Lincoln have the power. Plus the Ford now has that "is-that-a-cop" factor going for it. I suppose I'd go Taurus or Impala.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:27 |
|
And yet no one will consider Kia's because 6 years ago they sucked.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:27 |
|
These are all pretty luxurious in upper trim levels.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:28 |
|
I'm waiting for the Impala's to get a police package... I know they won't because of the Caprice but one can dream.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:30 |
|
Which is sad because they actually made really good cars.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:31 |
|
They need to offer more trim levels. And change the name back to Commodore, I don't get what made them think that wouldn't work over here.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:33 |
|
Yeah, I think they should keep the name Commodore. It sounds more high-end than SS, and is far more memorable.
Who knows, they could make a new nameplate that pushes them upmarket. I feel 'Commodore' would be more successful at that than 'SS'.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:34 |
|
Acura RLX
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:35 |
|
Yup, Awd, 3.6TT, 6Mt optional.
Not like the last Impala Ss, where it was basically a Methed up regular Impala.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:35 |
|
That way there could be something more than just an SS model. There could be ones with the 2.0T, 3.6, and the V8. Some with leather, some without. Bare bones or Cadillac levels of luxurious. It would've given them so many more options.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:37 |
|
Uncommon choice. And oops, I thought it was just the RL.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:39 |
|
That Methed up Impala could lay down some front rubber though. But I did beat one in a race in a 97 328i with 195 horsepower...
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:43 |
|
Yeah, I'm not sold on the styling.
The Whale 96 Impala SS, that was a real SS Car.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:44 |
|
Yeah. The RL was before the whole redesign thing. I'm not a huge fan of American cars. The Avalon still is an old person car too me. You could add the Lexus ES. It's based on the Avalon!
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:45 |
|
I would've added some RWD cars, but that would've made obvious choices obvious.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:47 |
|
Why don't you like American cars? Just curious.
The ES might be a little too high priced.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:54 |
|
Well, mainly GM I don't like. The era of Cobalt and before is why. There are making better and better cars, but I still wouldn't buy one. Saturn I liked because they were rebadged Opels. Ford, Jeep, Chevy, but only the Corvette, and Tesla are the ones I like.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 08:59 |
|
Saturn and Pontiac were the only GM companies worth buying before their bankruptcy. There's a reason my mom ended up with a Vue over the Equinox. Plus RWD Miata killing roadsters.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:01 |
|
Yes! It's a shame their gone now.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:01 |
|
Very good points. It's as if they're only trying half-heartedly with it.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:02 |
|
I vote for a revival! But I've been saying that since they closed their doors.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:03 |
|
Well with production ending in Oz in a few years, hopefully it moves to the states and we get more trim levels and options next go around.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:04 |
|
Your mom has a Vue XR, right?
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:12 |
|
Yeah, she does. With that lovely 3.6. God that's a good motor.
I think you got off by a thread.. Kinja confusion.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:20 |

Abraham.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:22 |
|
...That took me longer than it should've to figure out.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:22 |
|
I think the Buick, Lincoln, Acura and Toyota are pretty spot-on for luxury, but the Ford and Chevy aren't there. Remember, GM is saving the good stuff for Cadillac and Ford is trying to convince people they need s Lincoln for luxury.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:23 |
|
There's honor in the struggle.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:25 |

From my experience with the new Impala, that thing is pretty damn luxurious. Compared to the CTS cadillac was making only a few years ago, it's way better.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:26 |
|
I am a sucker for the MKS styling so I'd have to go with that. Also I'm in denial and like to pretend the company is still as good as it once was.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:29 |
|
The MKS is really attractive with the swoopier grille though.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 09:40 |
|
Yup, Kinja'd once again.
![]() 04/24/2014 at 11:45 |
|
I'm a Buick guy so the Lacrosse gets my vote, next would be the Impala. The Toyota suffers from a dopey gaping maw that their designers think looks good (doesn't it's really cheap looking). The Fords are also terrible, the front is better, but they sit way to high (they're almost as tall as a CRV). And the rear deck is way to high.

Passat SEL V6 Premium? Or CC V6 4Motion Executive?
![]() 04/24/2014 at 16:37 |
|
Aren't those more mid-sized than full-sized though?
![]() 04/24/2014 at 16:39 |

I guess. The US Passat is pretty big though.
![]() 04/25/2014 at 13:26 |

Am I the only one who digs the Avalon's interior?
![]() 04/25/2014 at 14:58 |

It looks good, but the Impala's is more organized.
